The ecstasy of one meaningful connection is probably more intoxicating than a hundred beer-filled Cameron's runs with people you don't respect and circumstances you don't support. So honestly -- and I think it takes a bit to see this -- you might not have missed quite as much as you think. At least on the surface, a lot a interaction is a big lie, a superficial clamor for something better in another place at another time, because somewhere different is always better than somewhere the same, and being with someone, any person no matter how great the mutual disinterest, is better than not. Social validation is most likely not worth your identity, so the sale of the latter for the former is probably a rip-off. In other words: being without is bad, and its an avoidable and overcomable place to be, most certainly, but in the dig for beating human hearts don't search in the shallow mire. Search where the soil is rich. (Maybe you'll have to wait until you arrive at the ol' Crimson and Gold.)
